How To Reach
By Air:
Nearest airport is Bhuntar Airport (Kullu-Manali Airport), 50 km from Manali. From there, taxis and buses are available.
By Road:
Manali is well-connected by road from Delhi, Chandigarh, and Shimla. Regular HRTC and private buses run daily. You can also hire a cab.
By Train:
Nearest railway station is Joginder Nagar (162 km from Manali), but it’s less convenient. Better options are Chandigarh or Pathankot railway stations, followed by a road journey to Manali.

Itinerary
Arrive at Chetti Base Camp, located near Manali, the starting point of your Rumtu Summit Trek. After reaching the campsite, complete registration and meet your trek leader for a briefing about the trail, safety instructions, and acclimatization procedures. Spend the rest of the day exploring the serene surroundings of Chetti, nestled amid pine forests and apple orchards. Enjoy dinner by the campfire and an overnight stay at the base camp in tents.
After breakfast, drive to Chansari Village, the trek’s starting point. From here, begin your gradual ascent toward Kashadhra, a beautiful high-altitude meadow surrounded by dense cedar and oak forests. The trail is scenic, offering splendid views of the Beas Valley and distant snow-capped peaks. Reach Kashadhra by afternoon, set up camp, and enjoy a peaceful evening under the starlit Himalayan sky. Dinner and overnight stay in tents at Kashadhra.
Start your day with a hearty breakfast before trekking toward Matikochar, a stunning alpine campsite located at a higher altitude. The trail ascends through rolling meadows, dotted with wildflowers and occasional water streams. As you gain altitude, panoramic views of Hanuman Tibba, Deo Tibba, and the Pir Panjal Range unfold. Arrive at Matikochar by evening, set up your campsite, and enjoy dinner amidst the serenity of the Himalayas. Overnight stay in tents at Matikochar
Today’s trek takes you from Matikochar to Dohra, an equally picturesque campsite surrounded by towering peaks and meadows. The route involves a moderate ascent, passing through lush alpine vegetation and small glacial streams. Keep your camera ready for breathtaking vistas throughout the journey. Upon arrival at Dohra, unwind, enjoy tea and snacks, and rest for the night after a delicious hot meal. Overnight stay in tents at Dohra.
This is the most exciting and rewarding day of the trek as you ascend toward the Rumtu Summit (Chaklani). Start early and trek uphill through rocky terrain and open meadows, gradually gaining altitude. As you approach the summit, you’ll be treated to awe-inspiring views of the Dhauladhar and Pir Panjal ranges. Spend some time at the top soaking in the 360° Himalayan panorama before descending to the Chaklani campsite, located just below the summit. Enjoy a warm dinner and stay overnight in tents surrounded by snow-kissed peaks.
After breakfast, begin your descent toward Steling, following a scenic route through ridgelines and forests. The trail offers changing landscapes—from alpine meadows to pine-covered slopes. Arrive at Steling by afternoon and relax at the campsite, enjoying the peaceful environment and sunset views over the valley. Dinner and overnight stay in tents at Steling.
On the final day, trek downhill from Steling to Rumsu Village, a charming settlement showcasing traditional Himachali wooden architecture and local culture. After reaching Rumsu, board your vehicle and drive back to Chetti Base Camp. Spend some time sharing trek memories and group photos before dispersing. Your Rumtu Summit Trek concludes with incredible experiences, stunning views, and a deep connection with the Himalayas.

- Upon booking, the traveller will receive a confirmation voucher via email, within 24 hours.
- In the special cases of slots not being available, feasible alternatives will be provided to the customer, in regards to the customer’s preference. In such cases, a new voucher would be sent via email, consisting of the new travel details.

- Any cancellation made 25 days before the date of departure, would levy 15% of the total tour cost as cancellation charges.
- Any cancellation made within 15-25 days before the date of departure, would levy a 25% of total tour cost as cancellation charges.
- Any cancellation made within 7-15 days before the date of departure, would levy 50% of the total tour cost as cancellation charges.
- Any cancellation made within 0-7 days before the date of departure, would levy 100% of the total tour cost as cancellation charges.
- Due to any restrictions such as sudden government policies or regulations, health hazards, medical emergencies, or unprecedented weather conditions, activities and tours may be nonoperational and be canceled. In cases such as these, operators will attempt to cater to the traveler as an alternate, which is feasible in nature. However, any refund would not be catered.

- Stay hydrated: Carry enough water and other fluids to stay hydrated throughout the yatra. It's important to drink water regularly, especially at higher altitudes.
- Check the weather: The weather conditions in the Kedarnath region can be unpredictable, so it's important to check the weather forecast before starting your journey. Avoid traveling during the monsoon season (July to September) when the region experiences heavy rainfall and landslides.
- Acclimatize properly: Kedarnath is located at an altitude of over 11,000 feet, so it's important to acclimatize properly. Spend a couple of days in nearby towns like Guptkashi, Gaurikund, or Sonprayag before starting the yatra.
- Pack wisely: Pack light and carry only the essentials. Make sure you have enough warm clothes, sturdy shoes, sunscreen, and a first-aid kit. You can also rent or buy trekking equipment from nearby towns.
- Follow the Yatra route: Stick to the designated Yatra route and avoid taking shortcuts. This helps preserve the fragile ecosystem of the region and minimizes the impact on the environment.
- Respect local customs: Kedarnath is a holy site for Hindus, and it's important to respect the local customs and traditions. Dress appropriately and seek permission before entering any religious sites.
- Hire a guide/porter: Hiring a guide or porter can make the Yatra easier and safer. They can provide valuable information about the Yatra route, carry your luggage, and help in case of an emergency.
- Be prepared for emergencies: The Kedarnath Yatra is remote, and medical facilities are limited. Carry a first-aid kit and any necessary medications. It's also a good idea to have a satellite phone or other communication device in case of an emergency.
- Leave no trace: Respect the environment and leave no trace behind. Carry all your trash and dispose of it properly at the end of the yatra.
