Nearest airport is Bhuntar Airport (Kullu-Manali Airport), 50 km from Manali. From there, taxis and buses are available.
By Road:
Manali is well-connected by road from Delhi, Chandigarh, and Shimla. Regular HRTC and private buses run daily. You can also hire a cab.
By Train:
Nearest railway station is Joginder Nagar (162 km from Manali), but it’s less convenient. Better options are Chandigarh or Pathankot railway stations, followed by a road journey to Manali.

Itinerary
Arrive at Chhetti Village, the starting point of the Ranisui Lake Trek, located near Old Manali. Once you reach the campsite, complete the registration and meet your trek leader for a detailed briefing about the route, safety instructions, and upcoming days. The rest of the day is for acclimatization and light exploration around the base camp. Enjoy the fresh mountain air, surrounded by pine and apple orchards, and settle into your tents for an overnight stay at Chhetti Village.
After breakfast, begin your trek from Manali towards Lama Dugh, a beautiful alpine meadow located at an altitude of around 10,000 ft. The trail passes through dense forests of pine, oak, and cedar, gradually opening up to vast grassy slopes offering stunning views of Indrasan, Deo Tibba, and Bara Shigri Glacier. The trek is moderately steep but scenic throughout. Reach Lama Dugh by afternoon, set up camp amidst the meadows, and spend the evening enjoying sunset views and a hot dinner under the stars. Overnight stay in tents at Lama Dugh.
Wake up early and start the ascent toward Rani Sui Lake (12,400 ft), the highlight of the trek. The trail becomes steeper as you climb toward the ridge below Khanpari Tibba, from where the views of the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges are mesmerizing. After reaching Rani Sui Lake, take time to enjoy the tranquility and capture the reflections of surrounding peaks in its crystal-clear waters. Later, begin your descent through colorful meadows and forests filled with maple, horse chestnut, and walnut trees to reach Duddu Thatch, your campsite for the night. Enjoy dinner and rest well in your tents.
After breakfast, start your descent from Duddu Thatch toward Khaniyal, passing through lush pine forests and open landscapes. The trail is gradual and scenic, offering a final glimpse of the valleys below. From Khaniyal, board your vehicle for a drive back to Manali, marking the end of your beautiful Himalayan journey. Reach Manali by afternoon with wonderful memories of the Ranisui Lake Trek.
